How can I make extractions easier for the client? is a question we get asked often. Especially since we're non-steam users. We generally refer people to either the KrX Softening Mask or O'Melons XO sheet mask, but we thought it might be helpful to share a little bit about each product, and for whom they're best suited.
KrX PRE-EXTRACTION SOFTENING MASK
KrX's Pre-Extraction Softening Mask is similar to a deincrustation solution. The main ingredients, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Sodium Chloride work in tandem to soften the proteins of the skin.
Steam can increase the effects of the softening mask, but is not necessary.
The Sodium Chloride can be drying, so the key to using this mask is leaving it on for just a few minutes, and using it on oily skin. Dry/dehydrated skin would not be a good match.
How To Use:
After cleansing apply a thin layer of mask on the skin. If using steam, leave on for 3 minutes max. If not using steam, leave on for 5 to 7 minutes. Remove with our mitts or sponges.
Pro Tip: Rehydrate with water and remove mask with skin spatula.
O'MELON XO MASK
O'Melon created a pre-extraction sheet mask which is suitable for almost all skin types. This mask would be more appropriate for clients who have dehydrated skin.
The combination of acids (glycolic, tartaric, and salicyclic) gently exfoliate while also softening the skin preparing it for extractions.
Steam can intensify the results of this mask, but must be used with caution.
How To Use:
After cleansing, apply sheet mask to skin for up to 5 minutes. Remove mask and use a warm towel to remove solution from skin.
Hopefully this helps in choosing which mask to use for which clients. We also love to see you using them in your treatment room, so don't forget to tag us! @kinprofessional
