My Healing, Brightening Skincare Routine

My Healing, Brightening Skincare Routine

My face was full of road rash. Nose broken. Two black eyes. Electric Scooter+Pavement: 1, Julie: 0. Esthetics isn’t the career you want to be in when your face looks like a heavyweight boxer’s. Actually, though, it turned out to be a blessing, as knowing what products to use had me on the mend quickly.

Here was my routine for getting my face back in order:

First, straight from Korea, Omelon’s Vitalagen Brightening Kit. The kit contains 2 parts: a vial and a cream. The vial has pure Vitamin C powder in the lid that’s dispensed into the serum right before use. After cleansing, shake the two together and you’re ready to apply. The serum’s second ingredient? Niacinamide. Also near the top of the list is Beech Bud Extract (cool name, huh?!). This natural ingredient is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and hydroxyproline, which aids in building collagen and elasticity. I used the sKIN Pen to nanoneedle it into my skin 2-3 times a week, but you could also use electroporation or iontophoresis. If I had serum leftover, I would use this before moisturizer on the nights I didn’t nano.

Second, Reset Clinical’s Multi Vita Serum (coming soon). Pat into skin until absorbed. I love this stuff. Top 3 ingredients:

  1. Hippophae Rhamnoides Extract (excellent source of vitamin C and can stabilize elements in the skin that would normally be affected by free radicals).
  2. Vitamin C (we know the benefits)
  3. Niacinamide (I’m sensing a theme)

That’s a winning line up in my book. Light yellow in color, the consistency of an elixir, and a faint bright scent, I like to think of it as juice for my skin.

Next, Part 2 of the Vitalagen Kit: the lotion applied with the Derma Healer. The lotion has more of a “balmy” feel which my dry skin loves. Niacinamide, Macadamia Seed Oil, and 8 types of amino acids make it a perfect final step and the ideal match for the serum. I then used the Derma Healer to help the lotion better penetrate my skin. Maybe it’s the name Derma ‘Healer’ or maybe it’s the Iontophoresis + Blue LED function, but either way, I believe it was an important step in repairing my skin.

This routine, coupled with drinking a lot of water, is what I believe expedited the healing of my skin. Thankful I am for the knowledge of and access to quality skincare. Thankful I’m not for electric scooters.
